Table Setting & Cupcake Wars

Cupcake Wars: Participants will bake six cupcakes at home. They will bring the undecorated cupcakes made from scratch with them to decorate at the competition. Table Setting: 4-Her will present the table setting to the judge by telling about their ideas and why they chose this particular theme

Cupcake Wars:

Members may enter as individual or team of two members.

Objectives:

1. To promote self-confidence.

2. To develop public presentation ability.

3. To showcase baking and decorating ability.

4. To allow for self-expression in a safe supportive environment.

Event Description: Participants will bake six cupcakes at home. They will bring the undecorated cupcakes made from scratch with them to decorate at the competition. They will then choose their best 3 cupcakes to be judged on taste and appearance. Participants are responsible for bringing all materials they need for decorating. Participants need to exhibit knowledge of their recipe along with two copies of the recipe. If icing is made from scratch, please include that recipe on the cupcake recipe card. Participants will also be scored on decorating of cupcakes, taste, and creativity. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded. There will be a 30 minute time limit on this event, not including set up.

DIVISIONS:

Beginner:  Ages 9-11

Intermediate:  Ages 12-14

Advanced:  Ages 15-18

 Table Setting:

Members may enter only one category:  Birthday, Casual or Picnic (Holiday theme can be in any category). Please arrive 15-30 minutes prior to contest start time of 10:00 am.  A table will be provided.  When you arrive, check-in at the registration table. You will be assigned an area to set up. Parents and Volunteers may help the 4-Her carry items to area but will not be allowed to help 4-Her set up or be in the area during the judging. During the judging, the 4-Her will present the table setting to the judge by telling about their ideas and why they chose this particular theme. The 4-Hers should view themselves as a host and the judge as their guest. After all contestants have been judged, all tables will be on view for the public. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded.

DIVISIONS: Beginner:  Ages 9-11

Intermediate:  Ages 12-14

Advanced:  Ages 15-18

Tips for your Table Setting:

Select a Theme

2 place settings including:  dinnerware, glassware, flatware must be used.

Tablecloth, centerpiece and placemats are to be used.
