The County 4-H Clothing Contest has tentatively been set for Wednesday, April 16, beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Davidson Cafeteria.
Impressive Dress consists of 4-H members modeling garments from their existing wardrobe; garments can be purchased.
Categories are:
Active Sportswear—ball, tennis, roping
Casual Wear—school clothes
Dress Wear—Church
Formal Wear—party
Dress Casual—preppy, pleated pants, skirts
Impressive Dress winners are not eligible to go to Round-Up. Garments are judged for proper fit, consumer value and fashion.
Fashion Revue involves sewing your own project. You MUST follow 4-H pattern guides at beginning level.
SEWN garments are due by NOON on the 16th at the County Extension Office.
Categories are:
Beginning level—(9-11) pillow case, laundry bag, apron, tote bag, skirt, shorts with elastic, 2 pc. simple sportswear (no set-in sleeves or waist bands), polar fleece item.
Intermediate level—(12-14) bathrobe, top & bottom (elastic waist), shorts, etc with band, 1 pc. garment (dress, jumpsuit, jacket, shirt, etc—1 technique), 2 pc. garment (using one or more of techniques), any non-clothing item or polar fleece item using one or more of techniques, a blanket with binding.
Advanced level—(15-19) polar fleece item, 2 pc. ensemble (using 1 or more of advanced techniques); lined skirt, pant or jacket; unlined garment; coat lined or unlined; lined suit or dress; special occasion garment.
