Discovery Unlimited, May 2-3 at St. Groves Camp in Stillwater. The campsite is located east of Stillwater on Highway 51. The conference begins at 6:30 pm on Friday and concludes on Saturday at noon. Discovery Unlimited is a conference planned, conducted, and evaluated by a group of teens for youth 11-12 years old. 4-H members who were 11-12 years old as of January 1, 2008, are eligible to participate. We discourage bringing youth who will be attending Roundup for the first time this year.
The leadership team is composed of State Ambassadors and State and District Officers. This group of teens has taken on a very big leadership role that is a continuation of the development of their leadership skills. The group has had guidance from adults serving on the committee. The adult’s role has been to advise and educate, not do the work for them. The adults have been there to support, nurture, and prompt when necessary.
Cost
The cost of $35 includes lodging, registration, meals, T-shirt, and entertainment. The greatest portion of the cost is the lodging.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after 5:00 p.m. on April 11. If you make substitutions, they must be made boys for boys and girls for girls. This policy applies for adults as well. No shows on the first day of Discovery Unlimited will NOT receive a refund! If you have a cancellation, call the State 4-H Office no later than April 11th. Refunds generally take from 4-6 weeks after the event.
Delegate and Alternate Selection
Each county is responsible for determining how delegates and alternates will be selected. A county may have 5 delegates. Any numbers over 5 will be considered alternates and listed as such on the Alternate transmittal and registration forms. The alternates should be ranked according to who receives first consideration. Alternates are selected based on availability of space and the order in which registration is received in the state office. State Office will notify counties of alternate participation by March 28th.
