4-H Day at the Capitol will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Due to meeting space limitations, we are limited to 100 youth participating. We are inviting 4-H members who hold a district office, statewide leadership position or have been selected to represent their county to be a part of the distinguished 4-H Day at the Capitol. The 2014 event will be held at the State Capitol and begin tentatively at 8:15 a.m. and conclude by 3:30 p.m. 4-H Day at the Capitol is an excellent opportunity for State Council Members, District Officers, Ambassadors and county appointed members to meet with State Representatives and Senators, to share their 4-H story. Dress for the event will be green blazers or a green button-down 4-H Capitol Day shirt. Members or counties will have the opportunity to purchase a green long sleeve embroidered 4-H shirt for $20.00 The 4-H Day at the Capitol event will focus on the “Cooperative Extension Centennial; Extending Knowledge, Changing Lives”. In 2014, we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act, which established the Cooperative Extension Service, a state-by-state National Network of educators who extend University based research and knowledge to the people. 4-H youth are an important part of celebrating 100 years of extending knowledge and changing lives.
