Feather Smith-Trevino has worked for the Cherokee Nation as a Cultural Biologist since 2015.  She takes care of the Heirloom Garden and Native Plant Site as well as the Seed Bank.

The Seed Bank distributes seeds to Cherokee citizens.  These heirloom crops represent rare genetics that are tied solely to the Cherokee people.  After the preservation of heirlooms was underway, it was natural to add a variety of culturally important native plants to the site as well.  These plants represent centuries of Cherokee cultural/agricultural history.
