Oklahoma is one of the most agriculturally diverse states in the nation. In terms of economic effect, agriculture trails only oil and gas production. The state is a national leader in the production of cattle, wheat, pecans, and peanuts. Also, the production of sorghum, corn, soybeans, cotton, hay, and timber brings hundreds of millions of dollars to the state economy each year.

Payne County agriculture generates nearly $50 million annually to the local and state economy. Payne County Extension offers a diverse variety of educational opportunities related to:

· Livestock

· Crops

· Forages and Hay

· Agri-Business

· The Family Farm

· Master Cattleman Program
