OSU Extension Offers "Lawn Care" Seminar
OSU Extension Offers “Lawn Care” Seminar
Homeowners who want to learn more about maintaining healthy and lush lawns are invited to attend a “Lawn Care” seminar. The workshop will be held on February 15th, Wednesday, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Oklahoma County OSU Extension Conference Center, located at 2500 NE 63rd Street in Oklahoma City. There will be a $5.00 charge to attend the seminar.
“We encourage anyone who wants to improve his or her lawn to start with getting a soil sample, so one of the things we do in this seminar is to explain how this is done,” stated Ray Ridlen, Horticulture Educator for the Oklahoma County OSU Cooperative Extension Service. “A sample can tell us the nutrient levels in soil and how much, if any, nutrients need to be added, which will help with weed prevention” explained Ridlen.
This workshop will also discuss how to prevent and/or control weeds, how to control moles and gophers and tell you whether you should bag or not bag your lawn clippings. If interested in attending this seminar, secure your spot by mailing registration fee of $5.00 to OSU Extension Center, 2500 NE 63rd Street, OKC, OK 73111. Walk-ins are also welcome.
