OSU Extension Offers Healthy Cooking with Diabetes Seminars

 

            Do you or a family member have diabetes?  Would you like to learn helpful ways to control your glucose levels?  If so, plan to attend the “Healthy Cooking with Diabetes” seminars in March. 

            The Oklahoma County OSU Cooperative Extension Service is offering the “Healthy Cooking with Diabetes” workshops on March, 1, 8 & 15, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  The seminars will be held at the OSU Extension Conference Center, 2500 N.E. 63rd Street, OKC, OK 73111.

“Each Wednesday afternoon we will discuss ways to better manage your diabetes as well as demonstrate diabetic friendly recipes and cooking techniques to help you successfully manage your blood glucose and A1C”, stated Amanda Ford, Family and Consumer Sciences Educator for the Oklahoma County OSU Cooperative Extension Service and Registered Dietitian. 

            This three-week educational program is for people with Type II diabetes, pre-diabetes or family members.  Participants will be able to take home a cookbook and other diabetic resources.

Pre-registration fee of $25 is required no later than February 24th.   In order to be considered enrolled you must send payment to Oklahoma County OSU Extension Service, 2500 N.E. 63rd St., OKC, OK 73111.
