4-H re-enrollment and recruitment event will be held on Monday, September 11 at the Fairgrounds from 6-7pm. We will be providing hotdogs, chips, and drinks. RSVP to 689-7772 by Sep. 7. Information on project areas will be available. Come learn what 4-H has to offer!

The 2017 Fall County Fair will be held at the McIntosh County Fairgrounds. Poultry/Rabbit Show: Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017. Horse Show: Friday, Aug. 25, 2017 at Checotah. Livestock Show & Indoor Exhibits: Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017

Join us for an OHCE member meeting, lesson & craft on Monday August 21 at 6 pm. The lesson will be "Using Social Media for Member Recruitment" followed by an optional bracelet making workshop conducted by Tami Layne Creations. Cost for the workshop is $7.50 per person and includes all supplies to make 1 bracelet. Please RSVP by August 15 so we know how many bracelet supplies are needed. Plan on attending this fun filled evening!

Youth Cooking School, sponsored by the Oklahoma Pork Council, has tentatively been set for August 1, 9:30am-1:00pm at the Fairgrounds. Youth will learn about food/kitchen safety and have hands-on experience by cooking a dish featuring pork. Interested youth, ages 9-14 years old, should register/RSVP by July 19. There is no cost for the school, but space is limited to 12 attendees. This event may be rescheduled, dependening on number of sign ups.

Terrific Tuesday Fair Project Workshop will be held on July 25, 2017 from 9:30am-noon. This project will be DECORATIVE TEXTILE TECHNIQUE. Participants need to bring something to tie-dye & decorate (t-shirt, pillowcase, socks, etc.). Must RSVP by noon on Wednesday, July 19 as supplies will only be purchased for those who RSVP. Lunch will not be provided.

Terrific Tuesday Fair Project Workshop will be held on July 18, 2017 from 9:30am-noon. This project be SEASONAL DECOR. Participants will paint/decorate seasonal wooden cutouts of pumpkins or Christmas ornaments. Must RSVP by noon on Wednesday, July 12 as supplies will only be purchased for those who RSVP. Lunch will not be provided.

4-H Day Trip has been scheduled for Coblentz Farms (dairy & commercial beef operation) in Choteau, followed by lunch at Dutch Pantry diner. Cost will be determined by number of attendees. Trip will have a community service aspect along with fun, educational activities. We will depart from the Extension office at 8:00 am & return at approximately 4:30 pm. Signed permission and medical forms are required. RSVP by June 12.

Pamela Ward, Agriculture Educator will host a Poultry Waste Management continuing education class at the McIntosh County Fairgrounds on June 1, 2017. Featured speakers are: Scott Clawson, Area Ag Economist, OSU and Brian Pugh, Area Agronomist, OSU. Please call for registration information.
May 25, 2017 OHCE Lesson: Stress Management (McIntosh Co. Fairgrounds, from May 25, 2017 06:00 PM to May 25, 2017 08:00 PM)
On May 25, 6 pm, Melanie will host the OHCE Lesson: Stress Management. For $5 each, participants may make 3 bath bombs and a half pint jar of sugar scrub. Participants need to bring -3 mixing bowls and a mixing spoon or whisk. Fragrance oils and Essential oils will be provided. This meeting is for current OHCE members. We will be having a "bring a guest" recruitment night in September or October to build our membership for 2018.
