This is an exciting time for all of Extension. 2014 marks the 100-year anniversary of the signing of the Smith-Lever Act, the founding legislation of the national Cooperative Extension System. When President Woodrow Wilson signed the Smith-Lever Act into law, he called it “one of the most significant and far-reaching measures for the education of adults ever adopted by any government.”

We in Kingfisher County are going to have a celebration of our own on May 8, 2014. We have partnered up with the Chisholm Trail Museum and will have an exhibit displaying historic pieces from not only Kingfisher County but also Extension Offices across the states.

From 1pm-3pm on May 8th we will be inviting elected officials, past Kingfisher County Extension Educators and the community to join us at the museum as we celebrate Extension’s birthday.

We hope that you can come help us celebrate this historic event.
