STATE AWARDS & SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

State Round-Up (13-18 years old)
State conference includes special activities, programs, workshops, competitive events, and election of state and district officers. To qualify you must give either a Talk or Illustrated Presentation at the County Rally. To qualify you must qualify by earning 200 points. Complete Kay County Round-Up Qualification Point System form. Watch newsletter for due date.

State 4-H Congress (must be 14 years old)
Held in Oklahoma City each year. To recognize members for their accomplishments and help them in developing their leadership abilities. They will learn about the broad aspects of 4-H, the state capital city and the resources it offers. Help members improve their understanding of citizenship and governmental responsibilities and give them inspiration and enthusiasm for promoting 4-H.

Dairy Heifer Essay Programs (Jr. or Sr. in high school)
To encourage the growth and development of Milking Shorthorn/Guernsey cattle. Opportunity to win registered Milking Shorthorn heifer or registered Guernsey heifer.

State Wheat Show (14 years and older)
To encourage increased production of wheat with superior market quality.  Manage five acres or more of any variety of hard red winter wheat and submit sample and report. Qualified winners will receive and expense paid trip to the Export Market on the Gulf Coast.

Tulsa State Fair
Exhibitors are selected from 1st place winners at the county fair.

State Broiler Show
To promote greater interest in the production of high quality broilers in the state of OK. Special emphasis is on the production and marketing of broilers by OK 4-H youth and the opportunity to promote a greater understanding of the commercial poultry. Participants must use only banded chicks supplied by the State Broiler Show. Held in May each year.

State Trap & Skeet Shoot
To provide 4-H youth with a supervised opportunity to learn the safe and active operation of fire arms. To provide shooting sports members with a safe and supervised contest in shooting sports project. Any 4-H member who is certified by County Extension Educator may participate. Individuals or teams may enter.

Youth Forestry Wildlife Camp (13-16 years old)
While enjoying the out-of-doors, campers will explore natural resource management and the issues affecting these resources through a series of hands-on outdoor education programs given by professional natural resource managers. There is also time for swimming, boating, hiking, tubing, outdoor photography, flyfishing, volleyball, basketball, sporting clays, and making new friends from all over the state.

OK 4-H Ambassador Program (application and information)
To make 4-H more visible across the state; maintain relations with 4-H alumni and supporters. Help 4-H members tell the story and national 4-H story. Represent OK 4-H at selected public events at county, district, and state programs.

OK 4-H Key Club Award (must be 15 years old)
Must apply for membership and meet qualifications. Application available on State 4-H website (word doc.).

OK 4-H Hall of Fame (must be 16 years of age)
Designed to recognize OK 4-H'ers who have developed outstanding programs in 4-H projects, including Achievement, Leadership, Citizenship and Personal Development, and who exemplify the high ideas of 4-H work.

Report forms and information and scholarship applications  required to complete State Record Book available on State 4-H website.

Peanut Production & Foods
To recognize 4-H members who give peanut-related demonstrations and illustrated speeches at County events. Presentations must relate to peanut production, process, or marketing, or food recipes, using peanuts or peanut products.

OK Pork Council Award
Based on presentation of pork related talks or demonstrations in competitive events and to non-4-H groups. Should promote pork as a food and not merely the production of pork.
