Greer County's District 4-H Officers

On the SqUare With Jeff Dill October 19, 2009

Welcome back to the square.  Today I would like to take the opportunity to tell you about two Greer County 4-H Members who have stepped up to the leadership challenge that is 4-H.  I would like for you to congratulate our two newly elected Southwest District 4-H Officers.  Over the past week Jared Dill and Rebecca Dill won the honor and responsibility of representing the 20 counties of Southwest Oklahoma.  Both candidates were challenged by two other candidates.

Jared Dill will be serving Southwest Oklahoma 4-H as their District Vice-President and Rebecca Dill will be serving Southwest Oklahoma 4-H as their District Secretary.  Again this is not just an honor but a responsibility that will take Jared and Rebecca down a path that will develop their leadership skills further.  They will be expected to attend 4-H events throughout the district.  Their leadership team will plan and conduct next year’s 4-H Youth Action Conference.  They will also serve to represent 4-H at events serving as ambassadors to the program.

Their successful run for 4-H district office is a historical event for Greer County.  There have not been any district or state 4-H officers from Greer County in recent history.  It is our hope that Jared and Rebecca are beginning a legacy of leaders to be developed out of our communities.

If you see either Jared or Rebecca, please congratulate them on their accomplishment and encourage them to represent you well.  Also don’t forget to encourage other 4-H members in Greer County to challenge themselves and their leadership abilities by striving to “Make the Best Better!”.

Greer County 4-H had six members attend this year’s Youth Action Conference.  They were; Hallie Annis, Madison Annis, Kelsey Bethea, Jared Dill, Rebecca Dill, and Beranda Straub.

I hope you have enjoyed our visit this week and I’ll see you next week or most any other day On the SqUare.  The Greer County Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service offers its programs to all eligible persons regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age or disability and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
