Norman Garden Festival

The Norman Garden Festival will be held, rain or shine, on Saturday April 14th from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Norman. This gardening event is free and open to the public. The festival will feature locally grown plants as well as educational speakers, the Cleveland County Master Gardener Plant Sale, informational booths, and Demonstration and Teaching Garden tours. Seminar topics for the festival begin at 9 am and include: Modern Day Gardening through Plasticulture—Micah Anderson, Oklahoma Department of Agriculture; Square Foot Gardening—Theresa January, Cleveland County Master Gardener; Problem Solving in the Garden—Margaret Robertson, Landscape Designer; and Composting with Worms and other Tricks—Claren Kidd, Cleveland County Master Gardener. We will also feature a seed swap, so bring your seeds and trade for new ones! There will be plenty of Master Gardeners on hand to answer all your gardening questions! Festival vendors will feature: locally grown fruit and vegetable transplants, herbs, trees, shrubs, annuals, hanging baskets, mixed containers, bedding plants, and native plants. There will also be vendors with various garden décor and yard art, as well as natural soaps and hardscape materials. Click here for the 2012 program.
