Cleveland County Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service
Cleveland County's Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service is dedicated to the citizens of Cleveland County by providing research based educational opportunities. As a part of the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources of Oklahoma State University (OSU), the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OCES) mission is to provide unbiased, research-based information and education through a statewide system of county office Extension Educators. OCES is a community-based, educational network, with offices in all seventy-seven counties.
Extension Educators offer educational programs to improve the lives of Oklahomans in the following areas: Agricultural and Natural Resources; Community and Rural Development, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H & Youth Development and providing quality services. In cooperation with other agencies, OCES coordinates strategic planning workshops to help communities assess their needs and devise solutions.
Cleveland County OCES provides information through publications, newsletters, news columns, seminars, programs, one-on-one consultations, computer based programs and agriculture laboratory services. Cleveland County gardeners may be interested in learning about the Master Gardener Program offered here in Cleveland County. School enrichment programs stimulate interest in learning, aids educators, and acquaints students with a variety of programs and subjects available through extension and 4-H & Youth Development Programs. Topics related to improving the lives of individuals and families of all ages from child development to gerontology, food to finances, are found in Family and Consumer Sciences program area.
Educators in Agriculture and Horticulture are available for residents of Cleveland County to answer questions from anything from peach leaf curl to pasture weed control; turf management to livestock feeding and nutrition.
