Opportunities to Help:
Cleveland County Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service is dedicated to Cleveland County by providing research-based education. As a part of the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Oklahoma State University, the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OCES) mission is to provide research-based information and education through a statewide system of Educators. OCES is an educational network with offices in all Oklahoma counties.
Extension Educators offer programs to improve the lives of Oklahoman's in the following areas: Agriculture/Natural Resources; Horticulture; Community and Rural Development; Family and Consumer Sciences; 4-H & Youth Development; and providing quality services. In cooperation with other agencies, OCES coordinates strategic planning workshops to help communities assess their needs and devise solutions.
Cleveland County OCES provides information through publications, newsletters, news columns, seminars, programs, consultations, computer-based programs and agriculture laboratory services.
Cleveland County gardeners may be interested in learning about the Master Gardener Program offered here in Cleveland County.
School enrichment programs stimulate interest in learning, aids educators, and acquaints students with programs available through extension and 4-H & Youth Development.
Topics related to improving the lives of individuals and families of all ages from child development to gerontology, food to finances, are found in Family and Consumer Sciences.
