OHCE Scholarships Available

The Canadian County Association for Oklahoma Home & Community Education (OHCE) is giving two $500 scholarships to students planning to attend a two- or four-year college, or university.

Scholarships are available to any 2016 graduating senior or new G.E.D. certificate holder who: resides in Canadian County; is registering for further education for the first time; and will be attending an institution of higher education full-time.  Recipients will be selected on the basis of financial need, academic record, and character recommendations.

One-half of the scholarship, $250, will be sent directly to the school of choice at the beginning of the school year.  The remaining $250 will be sent to the school at the beginning of the second semester upon proof of qualification and continuation.  The scholarship is intended to defray all or part of the tuition, room, board and other fees and costs which may be charged by the school.

Application forms are available by calling 405-262-0155, or pick one up at the Canadian County Extension Office at 218 N. Country Club Road in El Reno, located at the County Fairgrounds.
