General Rules & Regulations
1. Youth are eligible to show if they are a 4-H or FFA member in a Caddo County School System.
2. Exhibitors must show their own project. If the exhibitor has more than one animal in any class or is physically disabled* at the time of the show, he or she may have another eligible exhibitor for their local 4-H and/or FFA Chapter to show the animal or animals.
3. Bedding will be furnished by the exhibitor (wood chips only.)
4. Entries will be released after the selection of the Grand Champion Market Animal of their species.
5. No animal infected with any disease will be permitted to occupy any of the exhibit pens, but the board will not be held responsible for any outbreak of disease that may occur through a violation of this rule.
6. All entries must be pre-registered prior to January 15th with entries submitted through your local Agriculture Instructor or Certified 4-H Volunteer Leader, final entries are to be made on the Caddo County Fairgrounds.
7. All exhibits, grounds, and buildings shall be under the control of the Caddo County Fair Board, but neither officers nor the board will in any case be responsible for any injury, loss or damage that may occur to any person, livestock, or property.
8. All animals must be owned by the exhibitor prior to Jan. 20th of the current year except prospect steers.
9. All animals must be nominated by their local Ag Instructor prior to January 16th of the current year, except prospect steers. Prospect steers must be owned 2 weeks prior to the show.
10. No ‘artificial fill’ may be used on any livestock entry.
11. The Caddo County Fair Board will review any protest up to 10:00 PM the night prior to the species show day, ONLY if the protest is in the form of a letter and accompanied by a non refundable protest fee of $50.00.
12. Showmanship Classes will be divided into Junior (9-12 years of age), Intermediate (13-15 years of age), and Senior (16-18 years of age.)-as of the date of this show. Exhibitors must show their own animal in the showmanship class.
13. Any exhibitor who wants to assist as a Jr. Superintendent needs to notify a Caddo County Fair Board Member prior to the show.
14. Youth who have been declared ineligible to participate in extra-curricular activities by their local school administration will be declared ineligible to participate in this Caddo County Spring Livestock Show.
15. Anyone barred from any other show holding membership with the International Association of Fairs and Expositions will not be allowed to participate in the Caddo County Spring Stock Show.
16. Exhibit animals must be prepared (dressed) by the exhibitors, their immediate family members, or the agriculture instructor. No “custom fitters”.
17. All livestock trailers must be parked outside of the fenced Hollarn Showbarn area after livestock have been entered and until livestock are released after the selection of the Grand and Reserve Grand Champion of their species.
18. Fairgrounds and the Hollarn Show Barn will open at 6:00 AM and be locked at 11:00 pm nightly.
* Instances of physical disability and alternate exhibitor eligibility are at the discretion of the division superintendents
Sheep Division

BREEDING SHOW ORDER: Commercial Ewe Lamb, Southdown, Shropshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Suffolk and Natural Color Market Lambs
1. Ewes cannot show as a Market Lamb.
2. All sheep must be slick shorn to be exhibited.
3. The superintendents will weigh. No weigh back.
4. Yearling ewes must have lost one (1) or more baby teeth but not have over two (2) permanent teeth visible.
5. An exhibitor may show three (3) head of market lambs and three (3) head of ewes.
6. All ewe lambs and yearling ewes in the Breeding Sheep Show must be registered and recorded by a recognized breed association in the name of the exhibitor.
7. Flock tags, or association tags must be in ewe’s ears when entries are due.
8. Registration papers must show the animal was owned by the exhibitor prior to January 20th of the current year.
9. There will be a commercial ewe lamb class for unregistered ewe lambs in the Breeding Sheep Show. Commercial ewes will be divided into classes by weight.
10. All sheep exhibitors will abide by the general rules and regulations of the Caddo County Spring Livestock Show.

Cattle Division

SHOW ORDER: Heifers, Prospect Steers, Market Steers
1. An exhibitor may show two (2) heifers, two (2) prospects steers, and two (2) market steers.
2. All heifers in the Heifer Show must be registered and recorded by a recognized breed association in the name of the exhibitor. Each registered heifer must have the correct percentage of genetics to meet eligible show requirements for that specific breed, except for the Commercial Heifer Class.
3. The Commericial Class will be eligible for the Grand Champion drive.
4. Tattoos must be in heifer’s ears and must correspond with the registration papers which will be checked with entries. If a heifer does not display the appropriate ear tattoo (as designated by her registration papers) within 30 minutes of check-in, that animal will be shown as a commercial heifer.
5. Registration papers must show the animal was owned by the exhibitor prior to January 20 of the current year. Except Prospect Steers which must be owned 2 weeks prior to the show.
6. No “artificial fill “on heifers or steers.
7. Superintendents will divide steers and heifers into competitive classes based on breed and weight.
8. The superintendents will weigh no weigh back during the show. Commercial heifers will be broken into classes and shown by weight.
9. Bred & Owned Heifer Class will need required registration papers for proof of bred and ownership. Commercial heifers cannot show in the Bred & Owned Class.
10. Prospect steers must weigh under 951 lbs., but the superintendents reserve the right to assure the most equitable and competitive classes.
11. All cattle exhibitors will abide by the general rules and regulations of the Caddo County Spring Livestock Show.

Swine Division

SHOW ORDER: Berkshire, Chester White, Duroc, Hampshire, Poland China, Spots, Yorkshire, Crossbred. Gilts followed by barrows.
1. Superintendents will weigh all animals at entry time, no weigh back during the show. Superintendents will call pigs from each school to be weighed at one time.
2. No “artificial fill” on any animal.
3. Water only will be used for dressing.
4. All pigs must be ear notched to show in the pure- bred classes.
5. All pigs must be Pseudorabies and Brucelosis tested with proper proof as required by ODAFF regulations, papers will be checked at weigh in.
6. Gilts and barrows will be divided into classes by weight.
7. Weight limits for barrows will be 140 to 280 lbs. Minimum weight limit for gilts will be 140 lbs with no upper limit.
8. Gilt entries will be divided into classes by weight.
9. One (1) exhibitor may show three (3) gilts and/or three (3) barrows.
10. Feeding pens may be used if they are setup out- side, or inside if space is available. No pens may be torn down for feeding pens. No feeding in the show holding pens, arena, or show barn walkways.
11. All swine exhibitors will abide by the general rules and regulations of the Caddo County Spring Livestock Show.

Goat Division

1. All goats must be meat or dairy goats.
2. There will be a limit of three (3) breeding goats and (3) market goats per exhibitor.
3. All breeding goats (Meat & Dairy Does) must have scrapie tag or be in a certified herd. Registration papers will not be required.
4. Entries will be assigned a Class by weight. Meat Goat Classes will be divided into 3 Divisions by the Superintendents. Dairy Goats will weigh-in the morning of the show, after milking.
5. No billies will be allowed to show in any division.
6. All meat goats must resemble a boer or be a member of a meat goat breed. All wethers will show as market goats. There must be more than 3 goats to be broken into 2 or more classes.
7. Exhibitors are limited to 3 market and dairy goats.
