Jul 24, 2019 State 4-H Roundup (OSU Campus, Stillwater, from Jul 24, 2019 08:00 AM to Jul 26, 2019 04:00 PM)
State 4-H Roundup will take place on the OSU campus July 24-26. This year’s theme is Passport To The Past—Ticket To Tomorrow. State 4-H Roundup will be opportunities for youth, 7th Grade and up as of July 1st, to learn in a hands-on, engaging manner, while focusing on life skill development. Youth from all over the state with similar interests come together to make friends, compete in contests, attend educational workshops and receive recognition. Roundup has been a 4-H tradition in Oklahoma for nearly a century. It’s also a great opportunity to see friends from other counties whom 4-H’ers have met through other activities such as state trips, shooting sports competitions or district speech contests. Learning is a key component in 4-H. Delegates will have a chance to take part in a wide variety of educational workshops. Workshop topics will be greatly varied in order to offer something for everyone’s interest while still focusing on hands-on learning and life skill development. The capstone assembly on the final morning of 4-H Roundup will feature the 4-H Has Talent competition, as well as the introduction of the new district officers and the announcement of the new State 4-H Leadership Council. Registration forms with a $150.00 registration fee is due to the Beaver County OSU Extension Office by Friday, May 31st. Aug 09, 2019 Co-Parenting Through Divorce (Beaver Co Extension Office Room, from Aug 09, 2019 09:00 AM to Aug 09, 2019 12:00 PM)
Must Pre-Register. Co-Parenting Classes will be held from 9:00am-12:00noon on August 9th. How parents handle the divorce can make it better or worse for their children. Co-Parenting for Resilience is a program to help divorcing parents instill resilience in their children. Because divorce can cause numerous problems for children, many Oklahoma judges are requiring divorcing parents to attend a co-parenting workshop before their divorce will be granted. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate to present to their judge. Co-Parenting for Resilience is a 4 hour class designed to help parents: Learn how to keep their children out of the middle of their divorce; Recognize problems that their children may experience; Discover ways to change their own behaviors to help children adjust and overcome the challenges of divorce. Registration is $35.00. Contact the Beaver County Extension for details or to pre-register at least 3 business days prior to the class.
