4-H Food Show

4-H members have the opportunity to participate in the annual 4-H Food Show. This contest is directly related to the food nutrition project. 4-H members prepare dishes to be judged. The purpose of the contest is to have the opportunity to judge the preparation skills of the 4-H member. Date for the contest is determined at the annual calendar planning meeting in July or August. Exhibitors must be enrolled in Beaver County 4-H. Food is to be placed on a sturdy disposable plate. Enclose food and plate in a plastic bag. Name must be on bottom side of plate. No mixes expect where specified. Each age division has required classes. Recipes must be provided for all entries. Food will be judged on taste and food appearance. Age divisions are: Cloverbuds (5-8), Beginners (9-11 as of January 1), Intermediate (12-14 as of January 1), and Advanced (15-19 as of January 1). Every 4-H member must enter in a required class before they can enter in the other classes for their division. For complete list of classes contact the Extension Office. 4-H members should consider the appearance and taste of items entered in the Food Show. Beaver County OHCE furnishes awards for the Food Show.
